Financial Aid

Tucson CDL Training: Additional Resources

HDS Truck Driving Institute understands that not everyone can afford to pay for the cost of school up front. Financial aid may be available for those who qualify, allowing students to finance their education with federal grants and student loans. Many trucking companies will even reimburse the cost of training.

HDS has close relationships with agencies throughout Arizona. We can help you work with agencies to potentially receive grants to pay for your CDL.

Financial Aid Policy:

Financial Aid is available for those who qualify and may only be used for the Professional Truck Driving Program. Financial Aid programs provide assistance to students whose financial resources are insufficient to meet the full cost of their education and choose to finance part of their education costs with student loans.

How to Apply for Financial Aid:

Filling out the Free Application for Federal Financial Aid (FAFSA) is the first step for students in securing financial aid to make college more affordable; it’s how you’ll be considered for the most financial aid, including grants and loans. Submit the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online at https://studentaid.gov/h/apply-for-aid or meet with a member of our Student Services/Financial Aid Representative team for assistance. HDS’ Federal School Code is 03445300.

Types of Financial Aid Available:

Students may pay via debit/credit or money order, bill the amount due directly to an agency or company, apply for loans that may require qualified co-signers, or complete a FAFSA Application to determine Title IV Eligibility for Federal Direct Student Loans or Pell Grants (for those that qualify). Loans are borrowed money that must be repaid with interest. Students may receive a combination of these types of aid. Not all students are eligible to borrow through the federal loan programs, and some students may prefer to participate in private loan programs. Accordingly, HDS participates with a variety of private lenders who make educational loans to students. The terms, loan limits and eligibility criteria vary between lenders, and the Student Services/Financial Aid Office can assist in reviewing a student’s private loan options.
